Oliver – Pembroke Welsh Corgi

Completed March 2026

I have always had an soft spot in my heart for all animals great and small. I tend to surround myself with furry and feathery friends more than my humankind. As a child I was very fortunate to have many animals but was never allowed to have a dog. As an adult I got my first canine friend, a Pembroke Corgi named Maddie. She was the best dog one could ask for. I added another Corgi to the mix and the breed still did not disappoint. I had them for 18 years and enjoyed them every moment. When I lost both within months of each other I was devastated but with a newborn child we waited, and after 6 long years we added a furry baby to the mix. Oliver has been the most loyal, wonderful companion to me, and amazing playmate to our human son. His love of balls is profound. He plays soccer, hockey and of course loves his tennnis balls. I wanted to honor Oliver and his amazing disposition and share it with the world through sculpture. He is completely made from cardboard with the exception of his leather nose.
