I have finally started my newest sculpture and I am more pleased than I anticipated. I started with this motorcycle. It is a 2006 Proper Chopper Bobber 357 107″ S&S Motor 6-Speed Softail Wide Glide Custom. I am intrigued by the detail in these types of bikes and I started out wanting every detail to be perfection but as i hand-cut every piece of cardboard I realized i liked when something was an abstract version of the exact part. My workspace is small but the bike is full actual size. 66″ wheel base. I am very motivated to complete this and see my dream in reality. In art half the battle is seeing your ideas release into reality, into something you can touch and walk around. As a web/graphic designer for 17+ years I needed to feel my art. A beautiful website or awesome graphic (for me) does not satisfy my need for touch and feel of the art. There will be alot more to this sculpture after the bike is done….More to come. And I already have many more sculptures to come. I am very excited to share my newest creations.
